Firstan' Certification

BRC/IOP: The British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging (BRC/IOP) Global Standard for Packaging has been developed jointly, and sets out hygiene and quality requirements for packaging manufacturers.

Developed by the BRC (the British Retail Consortium, a UK trade organization that represents the interests of the UK retailers) in conjunction with the Institute of Packaging, the BRC/IoP Global Standard - Food Packaging and Other Packaging Materials, was developed to assist retailers and food manufacturers to meet their legal obligations. The standard provides a common basis for the certification of companies supplying packaging for food products to retailers.

ISO 15378 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to provide primary packaging materials for medicinal products, which consistently meet customer requirements, including regulatory requirements and International Standards applicable to primary packaging materials.

ISO 9001 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9001 is maintained by the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies.

PS9000: The ISO9001 quality management standard is enhanced with the addition of the PS9000 pharmaceutical packaging materials standard.

The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) monitors the use of timber in paper and board based products, ensuring that material used is coming from sustainable sources. The FSC Chain of Custody certification tracks the FSC certified material through the production processes all the way to the store.

The PEFC Council (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
